Sevoke Havoc !

Sevoke is situated at the foothills of the mighty Himalayas alongside National Highway no. 31. The drive from Siliguri to Sevoke through the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary is a memorable one. Sevoke in itself is a tourist destination with visitors from Siliguri flocking the place during weekends. The place is also a must stop for tourists visiting Sikkim, Kalimpong, and the Dooars region. This picture is of the Nandi river just before it flows into the mighty Teesta.

Siliguri Junction is where I caught the toy train to Darjeeling in the Himalaya foothills. Siliguri Junction itself is on the coastal plain & is flat. Although many Indians today wear Western clothing like jeans & tshirts, there are still some that wear more traditional garb. These guys are snakecharmers. There are live cobras inside the hessian bags.

Surya Sen Park Siliguri

It is located at Mahakalpally in Siliguri, alongside the Mahananda River. The Surya Sen Park, a favorite picnic spot among the local people of Siliguri. The park facilitate the children of Siliguri with different equipment of enjoyment.
